Cathy Berntsen

Cathy holds a Bachelors degree in elementary and early childhood education. She practiced as a lay midwife for ten years and was a Gynecology Teaching Associate at the University of Iowa Medical School for seventeen years. She has practiced massage and various bodywork modalities since 1977 and is a state licensed massage therapist. Cathy began working with Reiki in 1988 and became a Reiki Master in aTakata Lineage in 1992. She became a Reiki Jin Kei Do Master in the Seiji Takamori Lineage in April of 2001. She maintains a busy teaching schedule and private practice in Iowa City. Cathy’s practice has been shaped and enhanced by her extended residence in Japan and by her study of Qi Gong Healing.
